I am pretty picky about what goes onto my face. Probably because I grew up in LA and from a young age, clean and chemical free products were always used in our house. This extended to beauty, as well. As I have gotten older, I am always on the lookout for new products that are tough on aging and pretty clean of toxins. Below is a basic run through of my morning skincare routine.

I first wash my face with Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotic Kampuku Bar Soap. This soap keeps my skin happy and healthy! It makes sense that your skin, which is an ecosystem itself, would benefit from probiotics. All of those health benefits that you hear about ingesting a probiotic also lend itself to your skin. The makeup of this soap is rich in nutrients such as amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. Every once in a while, I venture off and try something new but I always come back to this bar for the best results.

My next step is eye cream. I am currently obsessed with Juice Beauty Green Apple Brightening Eye Cream. I bought this on a whim, while waiting in line on Black Friday, at Anthropologie. (Take 30% off everything in the store made me grab it.) I mean anything that promises to brighten around my eye area and my interest in peaked. I always like Juice Beauty because of their commitment to organic formulas, (and I wouldn’t mind waking up looking like Gwyneth Paltrow their spokeswoman.) They use all kids of technology and natural ingredients to formulate this eye cream. CoQ10, black tea, green apple, are just a few of the special ingredients you will find inside. I was pleasantly surprised at the results after one week of using this cream. I swear my dark circles are better! Win! (FYI don’t use if you have Rosacea or very sensitive skin.)

I use Living Libations Best Skin Ever- Frankincense on my face, neck and décolletage. My mother got me this oil for my birthday and initially I was skeptical. It said you can use it for washing your face, moisturizing your hair, and as a face serum. It all seemed overwhelming and it stood unused for months. One day I decided to be brave and started using it morning and night on my face. I thought I would be able to tell if I liked it faster if I used it all the time. I was correct, and I did really like it! I was slow to come around to using oil on my face. I am a teen of the 90’s where everything you put on your face was oil free. But much like how I blend butter in my coffee every morning. (The 90’ s teen in me would have called you insane if I told her I would be putting spoonfuls of butter in my coffee) I put oil on my face now! This company is super green and uses only the purest ingredients. I love their philosophy, (and they also have a great oral care department!)

For a little coverage and maximum SPF on my face I use Well People Bio Tint. I love that it has SPF 30. I live in sunny southern California so I am out in the sun year round and need as much coverage as I can get. This formula gives my skin a nice even tone and I can put more on if I am feeling like I need more coverage. The ingredients are again super clean. I also use the Well People Natural Bio Concealer under my eyes when I feel like I need a little extra coverage. To finish off my face I add the Cocokind Ma09cabeet tinted Moisture Stick. This stick adds a bit of color to the apples of your cheeks. And that’s it! You’re done! Your face is ready to take on the day after being pampered by the best, healthiest, and most natural ingredients found.
