DALLAS, TX – November 14, 2019 – Essential Formulas’ Science Director, Ross Pelton, RPh, Ph.D., CCN won 1st place honors for his poster abstract on “Postbiotic Metabolites: The New Frontier in Microbiome Science” during the prestigious “Microbiome & Probiotics Series: USA” annual conference held October 29-30, in San Diego, California.

Dr. Pelton’s scientific abstract was one of 17 preliminary entries chosen by the Microbiome & Probiotics Scientific Committee and showcased during the symposium. The poster abstracts were selected based on a presentation of the most significant developments in the field of microbiome science. Winning 1st place provided Dr. Pelton the opportunity to give an oral presentation to conference attendees, including leading scientists in the microbiome and probiotic arenas.

The exposition of “Postbiotic Metabolites: The New Frontier in Microbiome Science” depicted the critical roles that Postbiotics play in the regulation of health and the maintenance of a healthy microbiome.

Postbiotics is a term that refers to the vast array of compounds that are produced by the metabolic activity of probiotic bacteria during the natural fermentation process.
