Bacillus coagulans SANK 70258
Bacillus coagulans is a lactic acid-producing species of probiotic bacteria. Thus, it helps create a more acidic environment, which is optimal for the growth and proliferation of other beneficial probiotic bacteria in the microbiome ecosystem.
This powerful probiotic has a protective protein coating, making it highly stable and able to survive stomach acid. It also produces various bacteriocins, which have antimicrobial effects that suppress the growth of pathogens.
B. coagulans incorporates cholesterol into its cellular structure, which helps lower total and LDL cholesterol levels and produces the enzyme lactic acid dehydrogenase, which enhances lactose digestion.
B. coagulans also increases immune function, as evidenced by its ability to increase the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and immunoglobulin A (IgA).
Individuals taking B. coagulans have increased gut transit times, less discomfort, and improved bowel movements.
