Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics

Aug 30, 2018

Dallas, TX – August 30, 2018 – Many news sources including the New York Times and Science Daily recently reported significant research findings from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden stating that the “first-ever study in humans” had demonstrated probiotics effect on bone health.

However fifteen years before the Swedish study, microbiologist Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira’s research, “The Influence of Lactic Acid Bacteria (OM-X) on Bone Structure” was published in the February 2003 Journal of Applied Nutrition proving the correlation between probiotics and increased bone density.

Dr. Ohhira: A Pioneering Genius in Probiotic Science

Dr. Ohhira is proving to be one of the world’s most influential researchers in the history of probiotic science as his discoveries continue to be confirmed. He intrinsically understood nature’s restorative timeline when developing a 3-year natural temperature fermentation method that produces herculean strains of probiotics and Postbiotic Metabolites, recently proven to be the most effective aspect of supplementation for digestive health. Research conducted this year revealed Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics® contain over 400 health-promoting postbiotic metabolites.

In 1973 Dr. Ohhira developed OM-X (Ohhira’s Mountain Extract), a fermented whole food probiotic containing 12 select Lactic Acid Bacteria (including his patented strain, TH-10).  This whole food, culture-rich amalgam contains live, viable strains, and postbiotic metabolites, yet require no refrigeration.  It was encapsulated for ease of consumption and then sealed in airtight blister packs for convenience and safety.  Twenty-seven years later, natures ‘perfect probiotic’ was brought to America by Essential Formulas and renamed Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics®.

As a revered scientist and humanitarian in Japan, Dr. Ohhira received many awards and Presidential Citations while living.  He was the first Japanese honored with the prestigious GUSI Peace Prize, Southeast Asia’s equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Dr. Ohhira’s fascination with the amazing health benefits of fermented foods, and his determination to merge nature and science for the good of humanity made it possible to achieve his lifelong goal of “bringing excellent health and long life to all.”
