All health actually begins in your gut. When your digestive system isn’t working at its best, you can run into all sorts of health issues. There is a delicate balance of beneficial bacteria in your gut that can easily be thrown off. Sugar, antibiotics, and even gluten can play a role in knocking that bacteria out of the correct proportions.

While I am an advocate for natural medicines, there ARE times when antibiotics are necessary to help the body heal. Keep in mind that antibiotics kill all bacteria, not just the ones causing your sickness. THIS is where the gut flora can get out of balance. When gut flora is out of balance you will likely feel sluggish or tired, and you are also more prone to sickness.

Another issue that can come from an imbalance of gut flora is bowel dysfunction. Constipation or diarrhea may become a problem. So not fun, either way, right?

Foods like yogurt, kefir, kombucha, and feremented veggies all can play a part in helping to restore the balance of gut flora. However, when you need help and you need it NOW, supplements can play a great role in restoring that beneficial gut bacteria to it’s proper balance.

I recently had the opportunity to try Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics to see if they would make a difference in how I feel. After following the directions closely for 2 weeks, I noticed that I did feel better, with noticeably more energy. The all natural, vegan probiotics were easy to take. Even my hubby, who HATES taking pills, had no objections to taking these supplements 3 times daily. It did take 3-4 days before we noticed ANY change, the first was noticed in the bathroom. As our guts became more populated to healthy levels, constipation diminished.

If you would like to actively maintain gut health, adding beneficial bacteria may be what you need, along with a proper diet. Cutting out sugar and getting enough rest each day are also key. If you want to try Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics, they are running a special exclusively for my readers this month. You get:
