How’s your Digestive Health?

Tens of millions of you respond by saying, “It’s OK!”

Really?

We’re a nation with a chronic stomach and intestinal problem; most people are too embarrassed to even talk about. Bloating, belching, gas, constipation, diarrhea or irritation of the esophagus from stomach acid are commonplace today.

You see, some of us learn from healthcare providers that stomach problems come and go and rarely are they bad enough to cause harm….so we think this miserableness is “normal.” It is not.

But for many, nutritional developments in the past 20 years have finally provided much-needed relief.

Enter probiotics.

Probiotics were initially scoffed at, then questioned, but now are the darlings of clinical and research medicine, for one reason only: They work! But because they work so well for so many, we tend to forget how or why they work.

I was recently talking to my friend, Dr. Ross Pelton, a nutritionist and a pharmacist, and he introduced me to the reason that the right probiotic fixes so many people’s digestive system. Of course, few of us understand why probiotics made us feel better; they just did! But Dr. Pelton isn’t your average researcher and here’s what he told me:

The best probiotics provide a “postbiotic” effect. Stay with me.

Probiotics Have a Food Source?

The word, “probiotic” was unknown 40 years ago. Today, we know that probiotics are beneficial gut bacteria that, once replenished, encourage gut wellness. The word “prebiotic” might be new to you. Think of a prebiotic as a type of fertilizer that nourishes the good bacteria that you already have in your gut.

Today, it is well known that a healthy diet is responsible for our good gut health. But a healthy diet is also necessary for the probiotic that you’re about to purchase!

Imagine taking a live probiotic product that feeds these good bacterial organisms pure health foods like organic vegetables, fruits, seaweed and other nutritious foods even while inside the softgel!

You didn’t know that probiotics eat, did you? This topic brings me full circle in teaching you the good news about the postbiotic effect.

The Probiotic Trilogy: Prebiotics, Probiotics, Postbiotics

Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics eat regularly. They are live, self-sustained, micro-ecological capsules that can immediately benefit the gut terrain once swallowed. No need to reconstitute or hope that the dehydrated bacteria will spring to life. Why has this brand of probiotics led the way for gut health during the past decade? Because of its “postbiotic effect”.

A postbiotic is simply a healthy substance made by a probiotic that confers immune, metabolic, nutritional and /or digestive benefits.

A probiotic is only as good as the repair it offers. That repair is directly proportionate to your gut health. That incredible feeling after taking Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics is called the “postbiotic effect.”

Anyone can swallow a probiotic.

Some probiotics even come complete with a prebiotic. But after-effect, or postbiotic effect, always determines its quality.

Your gut deserves the best prebiotic, probiotic and postbiotic it can get. Love your gut…give it Dr. Ohhira’s probiotic trilogy!
