DALLAS, TX (June 18, 2019) – Ross Pelton, RPh, PhD, CCN and Essential Formulas’ Director of Science has written a scientific paper titled “Postbiotic Metabolites: The New Frontier in Microbiome Science,” which was published in the June 2019 edition of The Townsend Letter, the Examiner of Alternative Medicine.
“For several decades, the primary focus of microbiome science has been identifying and naming of specific species and/or strains of bacteria,” said Dr. Pelton. The “New Frontier” in microbiome science places a greater emphasis on identifying these postbiotic metabolites, which are the various compounds that bacteria produce, and learning the health-regulating effects of those metabolites.”
Postbiotics is a term that refers to the vast array of compounds that are produced by the metabolic activity of the probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract.
