Inspired by Essential Formula’s reputation for exceptional customer service and efficiency, Joey Mcgowan joined in 2016 to contribute to a company prioritizing innovation and customer satisfaction. “I wanted to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in ensuring customers receive their orders accurately and on time,” he shared. The company’s values and commitment to delivering high-quality probiotic supplements resonated deeply with them.

What Makes Fulfillment Rewarding?

For Joey, working in the fulfillment department is about teamwork and making a tangible impact. “The fast-paced environment keeps me engaged, and I enjoy the problem-solving opportunities that come with the role,” he explained. In addition to his fulfillment role, this Joey is vital in building relationships with accounts in the Dallas- Fort Worth area. He enjoy visiting stores, training staff on product knowledge, and representing the brand at trade shows. “By educating store owners and employees, I help them feel confident in recommending our products to their customers,” he noted. These interactions build trust and contribute to the company’s wellness-promoting mission.

Passions Outside of Work

Joey channels his energy into lifting weights and staying active when not at work—a passion that aligns with his commitment to health and discipline. “Fitness is a great way to stay healthy, relieve stress, and keep my energy levels high,” he shared.

A Day in Someone Else’s Shoes

If allowed to switch roles for a day, he would choose co-owners William Schoor or Marty Schoor, whose hard work and responsibilities he greatly admires. “It would be an incredible learning experience to step into their shoes and take on some of their workload,” he said, emphasizing their respect for these individuals’ leadership roles.

Advice for New Employees

“Start by reading the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)—they’re essential for understanding how things work. But don’t hesitate to ask questions or learn from your teammates.” He encourages new hires to engage with colleagues across departments to gain valuable insights and make the most of Essential Formulas’ collaborative environment.
