Center Health & Harmony: Where “Flying by the Seat of Our Pants” Meets Serious Wellness
If you walk into Center Health & Harmony, the first thing you’ll notice is the vibe. Between the music playing, the essential oil diffuser scenting the air, and the laughter of the staff, it’s clear this isn’t your average sterile supplement shop.
Owned for 13 years by, Beth, a passionate Certified Natural Health Professional, the store is a curated collection of “favorite things” that the owner simply can’t live without. But more than the products, it’s the people that make the difference. The owner jokingly describes the team as “like a little cult,” a tight-knit group that is compassionate, intelligent, and obsessed with health.
From Rabbit Holes to Retail
The journey to store ownership began with a personal mission. Disturbed by the loss of both grandmothers to cancer, the owner dove down a research “rabbit hole” to understand natural cures and the politics of health. This passion for learning continued through her own pregnancies and eventually led her to save her local health store.
“This store was here in my little town and I loved it,” she explains. When she saw it “going downhill,” she made an offer to buy it, turning it into a community hub for wellness.
The “Green Box” Devotion
At Center Health & Harmony, the staff doesn’t just sell Dr. Ohhira’s Probiotics—they live by them. Everyone on the team takes them and feels the benefits.
The owner was first introduced to the brand by Larry Hutchins and the renowned Suzy Cohen, whose knowledge she greatly admired. Today, the “green box” probiotics are a non-negotiable part of her routine. “I take one every night,” she says, noting that she never travels without them.
The results are hard to argue with: she reports having no pain, never getting sick, and always feeling good.
Real Life Success Stories
The team’s belief in the product is backed by personal experience. When a new staff member named Chelsea joined the team, her husband was recovering from a severe case of intestinal complaint that required surgery. Chelsea put him on Dr. Ohhira’s, and he healed quickly. Another staff member, Traci, also found relief from intestinal flare-ups.
It is this kind of knowledge that allows the team to educate customers on the link between the gut, the brain, and mood. “We tell customers how these are the best and that they need them,” the owner says. “We sample them and they come back”.
A Community of Fun
Despite their serious knowledge, the team keeps things light. “We are all just flying by the seat of our pants but we get it done!” the owner admits.
Whether they are joking with customers, sympathizing with their struggles, or speaking at local Rotary clubs, the goal is to make people feel special. It’s a winning formula that keeps the community returning to this high-energy haven of health.
