January 22, 2018 – The Chinese government hosted an international microbiome conference. The conference was held in The Great Hall of the People of China in Beijing.
The significance of this conference cannot be overestimated. It indicates that the Chinese government recognizes the central role the microbiome plays in regulation and maintenance of health for its nearly 1.4 billion inhabitants. Speakers at this conference include high-ranking officials from China’s department of health as well as several international experts who have been invited to speak.
One of the outside experts who were invited to speak is, Loren Israelsen, president of the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA). UNPA is an international trade association representing companies in dietary supplements, natural products and other health-related products and services. Numerous companies that manufacture and market probiotics are members of UNPA and Essential Formulas has been a member of UNPA since 2012.
Mr. Israelsen, who is not affiliated with a product or company, was chosen by the Chinese government as an objective and trusted source to provide an overview of the microbiome as it relates to the regulation and quality of probiotic products.
Ross Pelton is honored to be one of several scientists to help provide input, advice, and guidance to Mr. Israelsen in preparing for his presentation at the China Microbiome conference.
